This is was actually a really fun week! Monday wasn’t anything crazy we just had a lesson and then after we did a little activity which surprisingly literally took the whole class i finished and looked at the time and i was like holy crap! it’s already 10 o’clock! Then Tuesday was just a catch up day for a lot people if you didn’t finish your activity then that was your number one thing to get done because it was due at the end of the class. Then for Wednesday we had a field trip! The field trip was really fun we got to walk around the museum with the guy that showed you everything. The annoying part about the whole trip had to have been carrying around the stool. yes it was a good idea but it was kinda annoying to have to hold it around the whole place. Then for Thursday we didn’t have to come to MBIT because our schools had a 2 hour delay because of the snow. I actually called we were going to have a 2 hour delay but no one believe me! lol But i loved being able to sleep in it was the best! Then to wrap it up Friday all we had to do was finish our tutorial project and i think it looks really good!
Get started with web typography
Typography is, quite simply, the art and technique of arranging type. With that you can pick what your typeface is you make it all work by using layouts,grids, colour scheme and a design theme that will help you decided if your typeface is good or bad. Web Fonts are easy fonts that you can understand and easily read. The most common web founts are Times new roman or arial if you are on a PC. They are always the text founts that are used because you creating the website you want your reader to be able to read the information you are giving out. Leading, kerning and tracking are all evolving on the text but in different ways. Leading is the space between text so the text height. Kerning is the space between the letters or characters of the text. Tracking is the different space between the letters. Other things you can do to make it effective is by having the text stand out. If you have the text stand out like for example have all the text one color and then have that one special word a different color. Then its going to stand out and make your reader focus on that one word.

Reflection 12/8/17
So for this week i a little off the edge it was a good day until stuff happen. We got thrown a lot of different projects to add to my list of work. First we had a study guide to do on Monday because we were finally having our chapter 4 test that we have been working in for about a month now. Then Tuesday we took our test and i don’t think i did as good as I could have. Wednesday we had a pretty fun class! Mr. G had a lot of different visitors today so he let me and Sydney put of Christmas lights up! We are adding more lights when someone brings them in. Thursday we went over chapter 5, chapter 5 is all about Text and font so we had a Font book exercise and we just had to find the font for the categories which was San Serif, Serif, Script, fantasy and mono space. I have also tried about 5 different videos to use for our newest project but i just can’t find one that it clear for me to understand and a lot of them are just not in my liking. Hopefully i will find one soon that will work and that i like because its been very difficult for me.
Net Neutrality: What You Need to Know Now
Net Neutrality is the Internets guiding principle, that means we the people have our own freedom to run freely through the web to what we find interesting online. Which means the new neutrality is something on the internet that is enables and protects free speech. That means that anything in our interest we are allowed to search because networks shouldn’t be blocked. If we were to lose Net Neutrality then if you really think of it the internet isn’t the same and that means it’s really not the internet. For example if we were to lose it then it would come down to anyone in Verizon, At&t, or Comcast could be able to clock certain things if it didn’t fit there liking. Title II is so important because it was a rejected attempt from courts before Net Neutrality came. Also of big phone and cable companies are attacking Net Neutrality because they want to be able to control the things they have their customer seeing because they don’t want them changing their mind on anything that goes against the people they are paying to stay with. Overall, Net Neutrality is a good thing to have because it lets you explore instead of only seeing certain things.

Reflection 12/1/17
This week we have a full schedule. We had a project called the movie project which was a really fun project! There wasn’t a lot of requirements so we got to play around in Photoshop and we got to put anyone we desired. For mine i got to put two actor i really enjoy and think are funny which is Anna Kendrick and Matt Damon. I love the movies they are in Anna being in Pitch perfect and Matt being in Jason Bourne. Friday we had to present them and i think it went well because i was really proud of my poster. On the other hand we had another task we were on which was doing the pretests for photo shop, i’m really hoping to pass and get my certification. For the pretest i took three of the four test and i will be taking the fourth pretest next week and then hopefully the real test soon. The last project that we got to work a lot this week was Designing our websites. We put all the work we have done through the couple week and finally are putting it all together to make a nice website. The newest projects we just got friday is called Usability checklist.
7 Elements of a Great Movie Poster Design
The movie posters are important because it gets the reader’s attention and thoughts about the movie before they watch it. The design needs to be a really good design so that its grabbing the attention of the passers in the store to stop and go over and look at the movie to see if it fits them. Another is you can show without telling so you have a really nice picture but for the cover you don’t put too much so than your viewers question and wanna know what happens next. Number 3 is create an incentive to see the film. That means that you need to make everyone’s eyes wonder and have more of a modern scene and the scene from the film which creates a powerful intensive aspect. Four is creating desires for fans and non-fans to come to like it. Five is the style you got to have the cover look presentable. Six Lasting appeal, that means you need to have the film poster creative but not to arty. Last is seven which is you got to have your movie recognizable which you got to have it stick out then anyone who watched it will remember it because of the difference styles.

Reflection 11/17/17
To wrap up this week we had a lot complete it the week time span we had. For the week we had three top things that had to be done which were Photoshop chapter fourteen and fifteenth, Style tiles project and wire frame project that were all due Friday. For me I’m happy i was already ahead in Photoshop so that didn’t take long and then all i had to do was the two others. Then Wednesday i started another project that isn’t due for a couple of days. This project is called The heart for this project you need to pick a Title, lag line, plot, rating, opening date, characters and the genre all of your choice. With this project you have to design 3 sketches for your ideas and have the movie posters that was your inspiration. For my movie project poster i have picked to do as my main characters Matt Damon and Anna Kendrick. My movie is going to be a comedy about how the two fall in love but the twist is that no one even them didn’t see it coming, it was a surprise to everyone. I’m excited to see how my poster will come out and so excited to make it!
Style Tiles
Style Tiles are a design deliverable consisting of fonts, colors and interface elements that communicate the essence of a visual brand for the web. Style Tiles purpose is for a designer to plan out what they are going to have in what spots for there website. They are placed in different places but help you get a visual on what you will be putting where and why you think it should go there. You should be using the temples when the moodboard is too vague and a comp is too literal because its gonna help you be able to break everything up into sections that fit what you like. When making a style title its good for you to listen to your client and put down key words for help then you can go back and see if you both agree. Then for Interpreting the style you need to have the elements and the principles of the design to help with the formate. When you have all the details you think you will need then thats when you take it all and match it up t what you think works good together and why it should be together because it needs to be organized.
Reflection 11/10/17
This week in class we had chapter 13 due from Lynda.com and we had to submit our exercises. The exercise we had to do after the picture was a little hard because we had to put in sub texts. The only hard part with that was that the background I picked made it hard for the texts on the sides to show up no matter what color of text I did. On the other hand, we had a project to do, it was actually a really fun project! This project was called the Me Me Me project which meant that we had to make our self more than once all over the paper but have the same background so it looks like we are in the same place but all at different spots. I really did enjoy this project because it was fun to see that I can put more than one of me in the same place but actually it was a lot of different pictures. Next week we are going to be starting another project I am excited about which is called The Heart. We need to make a poster for a movie but it only needs to fit our interests so it could be romantic, horror or even comedy if you can make it funny, but the best part is you get to play around with what you like when using Photoshop
HOW TO USE CARD SORTING TO STRUCTURE YOUR WEBSITE
Card sorting is a great first step in designing or redesigning the structure of a website. Things you will need to structure your website is Friendly website user, Sticky notes or index card, A meeting room and refreshments. With making your website you have the freedom of deciding on what you would like the structure to look like because it is your interest. Open card sorting is giving people sticky notes with titles and making them put the ones you think go together that they think that match. Closed card sorting is having a test structure and providing categories which will take less time to complete. Card sorting is done 1 on 1 with another person is easy for other to communicate when they are able to hear debates.You can get participants to do the exercise either on their own or in small groups. You have online tools that you are allowed to use like a spreadsheet, and other ways to get data. You should aim to test around 15 people, according to Jakob Nielsen and Boxes and Arrows. Good data you can get is asking people in public or getting your friends so you can get true answers. An example is surveys that can be done on paper or using a survey tool.
