This week was a very look week because I was thinking about was that next week we have a four day week because no school Monday! This week on Monday me and Sydney worked on our computer fair project and got our header done and finally figured out what picture we would like to use. Now information is being put into the body for text that we will be using from the Gannon Chimney original starting website. We have changed the way the header looks then the nav bar and the tabs that go with the Home, about, services drop down with the Dryer vent, masonry and waterproofing finally we have the contact page. On the gannonchimney website they have a contact page but it is not filled with places for you to put information it only has the number to call so I changed the setting so that they can put in the email and there name so we can contact them if they do not want to have to call and talk to someone in the office. Other then that we have to watch the videos for word press on lynda.com and after we finish we are going to have to do exercises that hopefully we remember how to do.
The Right and Wrong Way to use Templates
The author thinks that there are a lot of different right and wrong ways to use templates. The wrong way to use a Template in web design is finding a theme that gits your target clients nicely. If you were to redesign for example real estate companies and purchase a licence you can make theme that fits together perfectly without not matching. Similar to how a theme developers might set up his page layouts or design options could be coming from your template theme or designing your own. Saving all your templates and not letting anyone else see them you never save your templates because all templates are different for different companies. You never wanna just sign a new client to your web server without signing a contract and providing good content. You never wanna not engage with your client about the web pages because if not then your never going to know what your client would want. Never getting feedback or having practice and just trying the web site is never a good idea. Good ways to use a template is anyways knowing your themes so you can customize and work. Then there is sectional templates are nice because they are quick ad easy to work on because they have the same design elements.

What Is GitHub, and What Is It Used For?
GitHub is a website and service that we hear geeks rave about all the time, yet a lot of people don’t really understand what it does. Git is a version control system and that means that the code is always being changed and for that new releasing Verizon. Forking a repo is when you are creating a new project off using another project that always is made. There is many features that you can develop off the program and other websites created. Pull request is when including a official project into your work you have to create a pull request then the author of the original repository can see your work. Social networking allows projects to grow more than just little features, GitHub is probably is more powerful features. Changelogs are collaborates on a project, if you have any problem with your keeping up with the tracks they take care of it. GitHub can be used for verizon control systems are for keeping everything straight, strong, easy to collaborate and you can anyways be uploading the best and newest Verizon. GitHub is not just for developers either anyone is welcomed to use the idea programs any way you would like for how they are useful for you.

This week really really long! For Monday we finally got to start finally start word press! WordPress was actually a lot different then i was thinking it was going to be but I’m really excited. Sydney and I learned that word press run with a server called wamp. In called it is work on our computer fair project for the first hour. Then the second hour we work on word press because my teacher isn’t with the level 100 and then he helps us. For word press we have to listen to listen to the lynda.com video’s that explain in a tutorial how to do the work. Chapter one and chapter two was just listening to the video and filling out fill and the blank sentences. In my opinion they were hard and now easier but I think that was because they lined by with word press four and i was on the newest updated Word press which is five. Chapter three is starting to follow the tutorial which is very exciting because i know learning the program will help me in the long run because it is going to be the program that i use when I’m creating a website for someone.

This week we did nothing for two days because we were on winter break Monday and Tuesday! The week was actually a short week because for school it was only three days. Wednesday we worked on the PA Computer Fair: Web Design Project. Wednesday we worked on the layout of the website. The website is going to be based off Gannon Chimney and recreating the website to make it much nicer and cleaning. I’m exciting to start working on the piece because the website is missing some detail that would be nice to be added plus its picture is missing and is not being fixed. This project will be worked on in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Dreamweaver. I will use Photoshop for the pictures and Dreamweaver to make the project. Thursday there was the websites layout of the service page had to be figured out because on the original page it is a little cramps for adding drop down menu can make the work a lot neater together. Next week we are going to be splitting the class up, one hour will be being able to work on the computer fair project and then the other half will be word press which I’m very excited to start!
The 8 Biggest Typography Mistakes Designers Make
Type is important because typography is an almost invisible art form; if successful, the care and attention put into setting type on a page will melt away effortlessly, leaving the content front and foremost in the eye of the reader. There are eight different but simply mistakes designers make. There is Insufficient leading, leading is descried as the space between two lines of type. Leading is to make a gap between the lines but if added to much spacing could make your work look disconnected or if to little can make your characters seem to crammed. Also there is another called tracking, tracking is when you are putting to much space between one work to another that it looks a little to spaced out. Tracking and kerning can be confusing but the different is that tracking is the characters between the spacing while kerning is an adjustment of the specific space between two characters. Using too many faces and wights are not a good idea because then your work looks to crazy. If using different text the maximum of three different typefaces. Failing to set reasonable line lengths for a line is a maximum of 75 characters. I use these text when I’m having to space my work into the way that it looks professional.

This week was a long weekend but i would love for it to do faster. I feel like its going by so slow because I have a full week of school this week and then next week we mostly have another full week but for Friday we thankfully have a half day. This week we are learning a lot of copyright laws that we didn’t know about existed. For copyright you have to follow certain laws if you do not want to get sued or in trouble going against the law. I learned that after someone died 70 years after that you are allowed to something because the copyright then doesn’t stick. On Tuesday I did the third web quest of copyright which was all about flat design. I finished my info graphic project this week and I did what I could but I hated the project so much that I really didn’t want to do it. I wish we didn’t have to do the project because it was stupid. I just want start word press because I’m excited to move on and work in word press. Illustrator is just not my favorite and so I’m excited to start a new unit like work press.
The Beginner’s Guide to Flat Design
Flat design is a minimalistic design approach that emphasises usability. It features clean, open space, crisp edges, bright colours and two-dimensional illustrations. Microsoft was one of the first to apply this design style to its interface, seen by some as a backlash against the popular isomorphic design that Apple kicked off with its interface. Flat design works well because it apply like a real-life object, for example a calendar, into a tiny realistic illustration, advocate of flat design identify apps with simple, icon-like images. You can create flat design by solid, vivid colours and they help give emphasis. The emphasis needed to set them apart can be helpful because of the way you are looking at the designs. An example of a flat design is the weather app you can keep the design either very simple or with a lot of bright colors to make it very visual to see. When exploring flat design in your work the design aspect can look professional and it make your work turn out to be very successful if you are to follow the rules and have it done right. Users will be very appreciate to the functional nature of your website if you are able to keep the colors matching.

This week was the worst week ever! It was so long and I hate It. Honestly, coming to middle bucks in the morning wasn’t the worst part but on Monday and Tuesday felt like the day went by so slow. On Monday we worked on our new project called The Info graphic Project. This project is all about a topic of your choice which i picked Social Media and relating it to others different social media apps like Snap chat, YouTube and Instagram. I related things together like how long you spend on the apps, what percent on the boys and girls use the different apps and what percent from the ages 18 to 24 and ages 24 to 54. On Wednesday was the best day on the week! Me and Sydney worked on our info graphic project for the first hour and then for the other hour Mrs. P told us to make snowflakes so we made six snowflakes some of them were blue and white, the others were pink and white! We got to hang two up in our classroom then two in the school store and two more in the showcase even though we already had two in the showcase Mrs. P said we needed to add two more.
