20 Best New Portfolio’s

The three portfolios I found interesting would be peak, Designer part and Vincit. Peak’s platform is on word press, its all colorful but it is mostly all different shades of blues. I think that the color scheme of blue is really nice and all the different shades blend together. Its also a little change then regular websites because they are putting the logo on the sidebar instead to change somethings up. Then there is Designer part which is all about going back to a little bit of a type of old day look with shiny vectors. It is really nice because the design is nice and bright with colors. Designer part is also platformed on word press. Vincit’s design is more all about having a pretty large design to stand out. With having a large logo it gives the company all the attention while just having something basic in the back so it does not take anyway from the contrast. This platform is by Craft CMS. For example you can do the logo is a big sized font and white, but then also have the rest of the design something easy like all black so you keep a nice contrast.

Reflection 3/15/19

This week was a really boring week when it comes to school. There was not anything crazy that happen this week. Mostly me and Sydney just worked on our word press all week. The word press is for a project called Ultimate Fitness. For the project we have to make a website, design it anyway that I would like. For my website I am working off a template that is called Asher. I had the to see the way i wanted my nav bar and i decided to put the nav bar on the top instead on the header which is in the middle on the website. Something I still need to do my footer but I do not exactly know how to put in or change my footer. On Thursday the whole level 200 and 300 class went on the competition. Also the of the web kids actually made a placement was really good! Most of the people there were from Middle Bucks but there was almost one other school. The students from Middle Bucks were my class which is the web design and then there was Multi media and also some of the art kids. So there was three different classes from mbit and then one from the other school.

A Coder’s Guide to APIs

When making a website and using code, APIs can be described by certain communications that are between two software components. You can use APIs to help with forms but it usually will included more like some combination of functions or methods, and data structures. APIs are helpful for you if you are trying to create a useful and functional website within the software. To explain a browser API, it is further known as a API that in a certain type of browser. The most certain browser used for a API would be google servers, google maps API is to develop and then that shows the mapping, street view, navigation and any other details that are added to the app. API in common use today are Canvas and SVG, web sockets, google maps, Facebook and you tube are all different examples. Canvas and SVG are examples because they expose the sight you are trying to see an its straight forward and not confusing to see. Then there is social media which is Facebook, twitter and you tube etc, APIs are enables in social media because they are helped to link you to whoever you are trying to reach. For example you tube you can go onto the app and then from there you can watch or learn by watching videos of all different types of people.

Reflection 3/8/19

Last week was our first full week on school this week and it honestly sucks not having another day off, another two hour delay or snow day. We have used all our snow days already because February was so bad with snow that now we have got another day added onto the last day of school. I am hoping they do not push graduation back because of the snow days but they did not last year so I do not think they will unless we get a lot more snow days. Worked on the same computer fair project about all week with getting all the pages final. The contact page was made to have a better set up and so that the visitor can contact by the website and not have to call into the office if they would not like all they have to do is just fill out the contact and set up a appointment. This week I only went to school two days. Monday we had a snow day, Tuesday I was very sick so I stayed home. Wednesday i came to school and it was a pretty boring day but then on Thursday Sydney and I both had to take the placement test so we did not go to school because it was at 10. Friday its suppose to snow but sadly we had school!

10 Real-World Reasons Designers Should Know SEO

There are many reasons you should know about the SEO it is all about the website and the good amount of traffic. SEO always includes a lot the different HTTP coding and they are what you can link up to one of the many different search engines. One of the more higher ranking would be google for example. If you want your website to be one of the greatest websites then one thing you would need is a very good search accuracy reader. With having a search bar it is going to help the people you are trying to have navigate your website get the information that they were searching for way faster. Mobile traffic can be a very big help when it comes to improving the flaws about your website and adding higher quality visuals to make your website more pleasing to the human eyes. That means it will give your reader a better visual while also staying focused on the the websites goals to keep the website entertaining. A good strength to know about building a website is that does not always matter about the size and shapes. Designers always need to have the best qualities for there website by having things that flow and are appearing to the eye but also nothing so crazy that the reader is confused.

WHAT’S NEW FOR DESIGNERS, FEBRUARY 2019

There are new designs for designers in 2019. One of the new designer programs are called Dice Bear Avatars which allows you to create placeholder avatars and you can also create characters or identicons using the free HTTP API. There also is React Insta stories which allows you to be able to make a Instagram or a snap chat stories that you can put on the web. You can add headers and images that can be resized/changed and fixed. Then there is sheety that lets you turn your google sheet into an API. It is free and you can use it for any websites, apps or anything of your choice. Then there is mini search which is a tiny but powerful full text that is used in your search engine for java script. Lobe is all about helping, it can help you read handwriting and hear music or even see emotion. Text block is a java script tool that helps you with creating nice and neat code. A common problem is social size and that can easily be changed with using a template to have the right format you are looking for. Tools that include templates are for Sketch, Adobe XD and Photoshop.

Reflection 2/22/19

This week was a very fast week. There was only had two days of school this week because of the president’s day weekend so we had off Monday. Then Tuesday was a normal day but Wednesday we had a snow day and so we were off again! The snow was really bad so the roads were all slippery so MBIT called no school even because central bucks. Then on Thursday my home school was closed but tech was open. I didn’t go to tech because the roads were a little icy so I didn’t have take the chance on sliding and getting stuck somewhere. Finally on Friday we are back to a normal day and Sydney and I worked on the Gannon Chimney Repair and Masonry computer fair project. The project is due in march but my teacher is trying to rush us to finish the project by today and I can tell him right now that is not going to happen. Mostly the project is done but the contact page needs to be finished and then pictures are on mostly all the pages just need about two or three pictures left to be finally all full and complete project.

10 Qualities That Separate Great Web Designers From the Rest

There are ten different qualities that separate great web designers from the rest. First is empathize with the user this is all about not just having your own options but also get options from other designers. It is always good to have research about the project that is real and not just guess work of what you think the users would like. You always want to rely on data and not instincts. Always do your research ahead of time because you want to have good details and facts. Having the research helps make your designs more supportive and helpful. Another thing is you never want to make users think you never want to make a design that it going to be confusing and difficult for someone to be able to use. Strategies are a big thing in being a designer because it helps you with knowing what you need to do and what you should not be doing when it comes to creating. Another strategy is implementing UI patterns which is all about having things that are familiar so they are able to be understood. Curb your designer ego, seem how far you can push your limits. Knowing when to yield, so knowing when to back off. Only using white space when needed. Being able to have something satisfying to look at while you are on the website helps everything look more presentable while seeing the appearance affects. Never not look into copyright or thing you can get away with using someone else work.

Reflection 2/8/19

This week felt like a really long week compared to last week because we actually had full week on school. Thankfully we do not have a full week of school next week! The computer fair is coming up in march so the Gannon Chimney Repair and Masonry project that Sydney and I have been working on is coming together. Mostly the whole week we really just worked on the computer fair project. We had some issues Thursday, for some reason the nav bar decided to get all messed up and it was really hard to find out what the problem was. Then on Friday we went through all the code to see what and what did not match up together. For some reason, in the nav bar there were two different div tags but they were not both closed. So there was a error on one of the lines but we fixed it without getting the teachers help! Also Friday we finally signed up for the computer fair so now we really got to have the project done before the dead line. Also the project needs to be put onto a piece of card board and you have to screenshot the website and glue it to the board.

How to Become a Junior Designer

A junior designer job is someone that has some to little experience on the work they are given which could be as little of zero to  three years of commercial design experience. A junior designer is someone that needs to pay close attention to the more advance designer for them to gather information and gain more information. Smaller designers and given smaller projects until they are worthy of something bigger to handle. The experiences that are needed relevant work experiences, always being able to work above others and having a competition on their work. New comers always need to be having good practice because with good practice it will help in the long run when you are trying to get a well paying job the more experience you have will help weather someone hiring one or the other. Definitively getting as much experiences no matter how long it takes will help you in the long run with what certain job you can get and how much money you can get. A typical junior designer starting salary in the UK can get between £20,000 and £25,000 but the national UK junior designer average salary works out to be £23,000. As long as you get work in your field then you should not have a problem getting in and getting a job.
