Photoshop and It’s Benefits

Photoshop is a program that is for graphic editing. It was published by Adobe System and  was made for Mac-OS and Windows. Photoshop was developed in 1987 by the American brothers Thomas and John Knoll it was then finally created in 1988. In the month of October in the year 2002 new versions of Photoshop were designed to help the improvement. Photoshop has a lot of options, for example, the color models which include color spotting. For the program you could use two different types of editing. There was standard and extended. When something in your image is a little off then you are able to go back in and change the way that it is being seen. You can make a picture in  3D mode or even edit a video or movie. Somethings that stick out about photo shop is that you can edit any type of image on an operating system that is either Mac or windows. Photoshop also has a lot of different support graphic file formats that help you. Photoshop also helps you layout your picture and helps you format it much easier. When using Photoshop you can learn how to crop, move around a picture, slice, measure, and painting. Photoshop works with additional software such as Adobe ImageReady, Adobe Fireworks, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Device Central and Adobe Camera RAW.

Reflection 9/22/17

This week we learned how to open Photoshop and use the basics. Some examples are moving around a picture, being able to crop, and changing the lighting on a picture. In class we learned that Photoshop is used for like everyone’s liking. It can change any picture you like into a way that you love. For example, if you take a picture that is too light or to burry you can dim or clear up the picture. Another thing we have done this week was after learning about the principles and the elements of design we got to pick our partners and we did a project. This project contained you getting a topic and having to then explain the principles and elements you got a then put it all together into an advertisement. We then had to present to the class what our topic was and how our advertisement went with the topic we had. We also have been using this website called lynda.com. Lynda.com is for people who want to learn about a specific topic. You can watch a video ti help you understand better because it’s always getting updated so it’s always up to date and is alway available when you’ll help is needed.

The Designer’s Guide to Gestalt Theory

The Gestalt means unified whole in the Gestalt theory. What they mean by that is that it’s the theme behind the Gestalt principle. You understand gestalt when knowing the six different principles. The six different principles are similarity, continuation, closure, Proximity, Figure/ground, symmetry and order. Similarity is when you are to look at something and it looks the same but somethings a little different. Continuation is some type of line that makes your eye follow where is goes through the picture. Closure is a picture that the human eye see the lines even though they may not be draw in. Proximity shows that the shapes need to be together not fully apart and spaced out. Figure/ground is what you see at first but once you focus on the actual picture you focus on its true meaning. Symmetry and order is when everything fits together and flows well. The Gestalt principles connect to the ones that we learned in class because they are using  the principles like balance, contrast, emphasis and the elements like line, color and size with the shape. Overall, all the principles are important because no mater how you think about them they are being used in everyday life without you even knowing. People are using pictures all the time but not knowing about all the different principles.

Reflection 9/15/17

For own first full week of school we learned a lot about the design 7 principal. We did a lot of practice with all the different type of pictures and most of them you can have more than one. For example a lot of the picture we used had contrast but also at the same time could be identified as emphasis. We also made our own websites this week and already wrote our first blog! After making the web site we learned how to customize it to something that we would enjoy and how we can make it our own. I got to move everything around in my website and change the title. Another thing we did this week was making our own color wheel we learned about the difference from primary, secondary and tertiary. We then made our own color wheel to make the order but also customize how or whatever we wanted. Overall, with this classes I think its starting out well and that I’m gonna enjoy it in the future and i’m excited to learn whats coming next like being able to code things and ever improve my websites more and to design them exactly the way i want and not needing anyone’s help.

What is a Blog?

A blog is known as something singles or in  groups write about and post it online. This allows those people to write something that they would like to express to everyone by a website. They usually update the blog weekly to keep others interested. A reason to blog is because you can entertain others by writing and then letting them read about something you have interest for. Blogs are never about one thing they can be about anything for the writer to keep you interested. When Blogging you always need to be updated so the people that do enjoy reading will keep going back to find out what the blogger will be writing about next. Also the people that do blog are usually people that are into writing or in some type of business that are required by them self or as a group. When blogging they update it to social media or a website that they choose. For you to make a blog it is important because it lets you express yourself. When you have someone telling you exactly what you have to be writing and telling you what is needed to be said isn’t fun to be writing about until its up to you and how you want your blog to flow. Its also about showing how you are you and how you like showing where you get that creativity through you’re writing.
